Player of the Week


Ayanna Meadows (So., A), Elms College

Sophomore Ayanna Meadows (Springfield, Mass.) was the Blazers’ best all-around player, as Elms picked up three straight wins to open the season. Meadows averaged 2.10 kills per set and 3.20 digs per set on the week, while also tacking on seven service aces. In a 3-1 win over Albertus Magnus, the sophomore picked up her first double-double of the season, tallying 11 kills and 16 digs.


Rookie of the Week


Tihana Ehia (Fr., OH), New England College

Freshman Tihana Ehia (Kanehoe, Hawaii) made an immediate impact to the Pilgrims’ lineup, compiling 29 kills, 27 digs and six service aces over NEC’s first four matches. She recorded her first collegiate double-double in the team’s loss to Mount Holyoke, with a 10 kill, 11 dig performance. She had a week-best 11 kills in NEC’s 3-0 win over Fitchburg. The rookie averaged 2.42 kills per set, and 2.25 digs per set on the week.
