Lesley Women's Soccer Loses to No. 1 Messiah in NCAA First Round

GRANTHAM, Pa. - The No. 1 Messiah women's soccer team earned a 5-0 victory over the Lesley Lynx in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday morning on Messiah's Shoemaker Field. The Falcons tallied two goals in the first half before netting three more scores after the break en route to the victory. Megan Mansfield and Rebecca Ritchie each scored a pair of goals for Messiah, while Brianna Seip scored one.

Messiah outshot the Lynx 27-6 in the contest, putting 13 shots on frame against just one from the Lynx.

Lynx goalkeeper Brittley Gaan made eight saves for the Lynx, playing all 90:00 minutes in goal for Lesley. 

Lesley finishes the season at 14-4-2 overall. 


The NECC began competition in the 2008-09 academic year and current member institutions compete across 15 sports. The NECC membership focuses on providing athletic competition among institutions that share similar academic aspirations and are committed to the importance of the total educational experience for students engaged in sports. Current members include Bay Path University, Becker College, Dean College, Eastern Nazarene College, Elms College, Lesley University, Mitchell College and New England College.
