Fralick, Gates, Hampton and Mangiaratti Share Final Weekly Softball Awards

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Lesley University senior catcher/shortstop Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) helped the Lynx clinch the #1 seed finishing at the top of the conference with a 15-1 record and the ability to host the 2010 NECC Softball Championships. Fralick batted .571 (16-for-28), slugged .964 and had a .649 on-base percentage for the Lynx’ 8-1 weekly record. She had multiple hits in five of her nine games including two homeruns in a crucial 15-7 victory over Elms. Fralick finished with 12 RBI, three doubles, one triple and eleven stolen bases.

 

 

 

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – For the second straight week, Bay Path senior shortstop/outfielder Sarah Gates (Crown Point, Ind.) earned player of the week honors batting a sizzling .583 (7-for-12).  She hit safely on all four contests including three multiple hit games and eight RBI. Gates notched three doubles, one sac fly and was walked four times. She was perfect in fielding with six put-outs and two assists. Gates slugged .833 and had a .647 on base percentage.

 

 

 

 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Elms College sophomore Courtney Hampton (Westfield, Mass.) went 2-1 on the week with a 4.88 ERA including two tough wins over Mitchell College. Hampton managed to help the Blazers clinch the #2 seed over Mitchell College by sweeping them 3-2 and 8-0. She hurled 24.0 innings giving up only 13 earned runs on 21 hits. She tallied 19 strike-outs and only walked five batters.

 

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Lesley University freshman outfielder Emily Mangiaratti (Amherst, Mass.) batted .486 (17-for-35) with 10 RBI, 13 runs, one double and one triple. She helped the Lynx clinch the top seed for the 2010 NECC Softball Tournament.  Mangiaratti finished with a solid .571 slugging percentage and a .581 on-base percentage. She also notched ten stolen bases.
