Player of the Week

 

Bryn Lipton (Sr., OH),  Endicott College

Senior Bryn Lipton (Rockford, Ill.) led the Gulls to victories over regional power MIT (3-2), Lasell (3-1), and Johnson & Wales (3-2) to push the Gulls overall record to 5-2 on the season. In those three matches, Lipton averaged 3.50 kills per set, a .350 hitting percentage, 0.64 service aces, 2.71 digs, 0.64 blocks, and 4.5 points. Lipton also notched double-doubles against MIT and Johnson & Wales, produced a season-high 17 kills versus MIT, and season-highs in digs in back-to-back matches to end the week.

 

Rookie of the Week

                      

Delfy Soler (Fr., OH), Eastern Nazarene College

Freshman Delfy Soler (Lawrence, Mass.) racked up 49 kills, 17 digs, six blocks, and three aces as Eastern Nazarene posted a 3-1 record on the week. Soler tallied 14 kills and four digs as the Lions fell to Lasell 3-1. In Eastern Nazarene's five-set win over Regis, Soler recorded 14 kills and four digs. He notched 15 kills, six digs, and a pair of aces as the Lions rolled past Northern Vermont-Johnson 3-0 in non-conference play. Soler capped off the week with six kills, three digs, and a pair of blocks as Eastern Nazarene cruised past Mount Saint Vincent in straight sets.
