Three NECC Men's Volleyball Student-Athletes Garner AVCA All-America Honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. - On Monday afternoon the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 16th annual AVCA Men's Division III All-America Teams. The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) saw three men's volleyball student-athletes garner All-America honors as Elm's Jeremy Torres, Jovanny Torres and Endicott's Bryn Lipton were all named to the Second Team.

Jeremy Torres, Elms
The 2019 campaign was beyond impressive for Torres, the sophomore outside's year included the following stats: 3.62 kills per set (362 total), a .299 hitting percentage, 1.94 digs per set (194 total), and 401 points (4.0 per set) in 33 matches played. Torres also recorded 23 kills in a win over #3 Stevens. The sophomore currently ranks No. 15 nationally in kills per set, No. 22 in points per set and 50th in hitting percentage while also picking up NECC player of the week honors four times, was selected Fist Team All-Conference and NECC Player of the Year..

Jovanny Torres, Elms
Torres would follow up his 2018 AVCA All-America Honorable Mention and National New Comer of the Year awards by earning Second Team All-America Honors in 2019. The sophomore finished 2019 with the following stats: 3.57 kills per set (332 total), a .254 hitting percentage, 2.12 digs per set (197 total), and 389 points (4.2 per set) in 32 matches played.  Torres picked up 17 kills and 10 digs in a win over #7 New Paltz while ranking No. 17 nationally in kills per set, No. 16 in points per set and was selected First Team All-Conference by the NECC.

Bryn Lipton, Endicott
Lipton posted an impressive 2019 season which included the following stats: 3.39 kills per set (305 total), a .322 hitting percentage, 0.49 service aces (44 total), 1.64 digs (148 total), 0.40 blocks (seven solo, 29 assisted) and 370.5 points (4.1 per set) in 27 matches played. The outside hitter ranks nationally No. 26 in aces per set, No. 35 in hitting percentage, No. 28 in kills per set, and No. 19 in points per set while his play has also aided Endicott to its current No. 1 ranking in Division III in hitting percentage (.319) and No. 6 position in aces per set (2.27). The junior wrapped up the NECC season as a First Team All-Conference honoree.
