INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. —The NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Committee announced the field of 14 teams for the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championship. New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Champions Endicott College (24-6) will host St. Joseph's (Long Island) in the first round of action on Friday, April 19th at 6:30 p.m.
Endicott earned the NECC's automatic-qualifier to the NCAA postseason by defeating Elms College 3-1 in the conference championship this past Saturday. St Joseph's (24-6) also earned a Pool A bid by winning the Skyline Conference Championship this past weekend as well.
The winner of Friday's match will advance to play the winner of SUNY New Paltz vs. Baruch College on Saturday evening in the quarterfinal round at Endicott. The semifinal and championship games will be broadcast live on NCAA.com on Friday and Saturday April 26 and 27.
In all, ten conferences were awarded automatic qualification for the 2019 championship. The four remaining berths were reserved for two Pool B and two Pool C candidates. Pool B consists of independents and members whose conference do not meet automatic qualification requirements. Pool C consists of institutions from automatic-qualifying conferences that are not the conference champion and any Pool B teams.
