Player of the Week

 

Kenny Sorensen (Sr., OH), Eastern Nazarene College

Senior Kenny Sorensen (Quincy, Mass.) led the Lions to a 2-and-0 week in conference play, as they posted wins over Dean and Lesley. He tallied a double-double in both matches, with 16 kills and 14 digs the win at Dean, and 13 kills and 11 digs in the win over Lesley. On the week, Sorensen averaged 4.83 kills per set, 4.87 digs per set, while adding 7 service aces, two assists, and two unassisted blocks to his stat line.

 

Rookie of the Week

 

Jake Johnson (Jr., MH), Elms College

Junior Jake Johnson (Warwick, R.I.) was dominant during the week, with 26 kills and just two errors. He hit .774 with 3.71 kills per set and added 1.00 blocks per set in three Elms victories. Elms extended its win-streak to five contests and finished 10-2 in NECC play. Johnson was nearly perfect in a win over SVC, picking up nine kills without an error on 10 attempts, while also tallying 11 kills on 14 attempts and six kills on seven attempts in NECC matches against Lesley and Newbury during the week.
