Elms’ O’Grady & Daniel Webster Trio Take NECC Men’s Soccer Awards

Elms College junior Connor O'Grady was named Player of the Year, and Daniel Webster College took the remaining three major individual awards in 2014 All-Conference balloting by the New England Collegiate Conference coaches. Daniel Webster's Sean Hamilton was selected as Goal Keeper of the Year, while freshman teammate Nathan Misidi was the Rookie of the year, and Eagles' coach Matt Correia was chosen by his colleagues as Coach of the Year.

O'Grady, a defender from Somers, Conn., tallied 19 points on the season with six goals and seven assists. O'Grady leads the NECC in assists, and ranks second in points. In Conference play, O'Grady appeared in six games with two goals and four assists, and was a part of a defensive backfield that limited opponents to four goals in seven conference matches. O'Grady recorded the program's fastest hat trick, netting a trio of goals in a 1:25 span in a 14-0 win over Wheelock.

Hamilton, a junior, sported a 0.87 goals against average and had four shutouts in NECC play in 2014. The Brookline, N.H., native posted an .829 save percentage against Conference opponents. He currently ranks second on the Eagles' career goals against average and shutout lists.

Misidi is a midfielder from Atlanta, Ga. He was a two-time NECC Rookie of the Week selection and was also an Eastern College Athletic Conference New England Division III Rookie of the Week. Over the course of the season Misidi had three game winnig goals among his seven markers.

Correia takes home his first NECC Coach of the Year honor. The fourth-year mentor guided the Eagles to a 13-5-1 regular season record and a 5-2 NECC ledger that earned the second seed in the  NECC Championship Tournament. Daniel Webster had a school record eight-game win streak during the season.

Lesley University was voted the Team Sportsmanship Award.
