New England College Draws Norwich in NCAA Championship First Round

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - The NCAA released the field of 36 for the 2019 Men's Lacrosse National Championship on Sunday evening. After claiming the NECC/NAC Championship Alliance title over the weekend, New England College is set to represent the NECC on the national stage. With the exception of the championship game, all games will be played on the campus of one of the competing teams. First round competition will be held on Tuesday, May 7 with the winners advancing to play in the second round on Wednesday, May 8. The sixteen remaining teams will play in the third round on Saturday, May 11. The quarterfinals will take place on Wednesday, May 15 and the semifinals will be played Sunday, May 19 while the championship is slated for May 26th in Philadelphia.

The Pilgrims are set to square off with Norwich University in the opening round on Tuesday, May 7th at 4pm at Tufts, the winner will then take on the Jumbos on Wednesday, May 8th. The Pilgrims currently hold a 9-8 overall record entering the big dance while Norwich enters the tournament as the GNAC champions holding a 13-4 overall record.
