NASHUA, N.H. On Sunday, April 5, Daniel Webster College Athletics will host the inaugural DWC Charity Jam, a one-day invitational mens basketball tournament to benefit the Leukemia Research Foundation (LRF). The tournament will feature players from several New England-area colleges and universities playing 20-minute games in a double-elimination format with a 30-minute championship game at the conclusion of the day.

Sophomore guard Rajai Leggett (New Haven, Conn.) netted 10 point, grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds, had 3 blocks, 3 steals and 4 assists and sophomore center Trey Jacobs (Lexington Park, MD) dropped in a game-high 20 points and fourth seeded Becker College used a clutch run early in the second half to pull away to a 89-73 win over seventh seeded Rivier College in the championship game of the ECAC Division III New England Mens Basketball Tournament.
NASHUA, N.H. Kevin Harrington (Center Ossipee, N.H.) led four players in double figures with 17 points while Lance Bisson (Nashua, N.H.) and Nick Bean (E. Longmeadow, Mass.) added 15 each guiding seventh-seeded Rivier College past sixth-seeded and host Daniel Webster College, 75-70 in the ECAC New England Championship semifinals before a full house Saturday afternoon.
Newton, Mass.- Becker College claimed a 85-82 victory in the ECAC New England Tournament semi-finals, upsetting the no. 1 seeded Lasers of Lasell College. After 15 lead changes and thirteen ties, the Hawks earned the right to host the championship finals on their home court. The Lasers completed their 2008-2009 season with a 19-10 overall record.
SUNYIT defeats Elms College 85-77
CANTON, N.Y.- Junior guard Diloo Brown (Harlem, NY) poured in a game-high 21 points and sophomore forward David Golembiowski (Barneveld, NY) added 20 points to lead SUNYIT to an 85-77 win over Elms College in Friday nights first round of the 2009 NCAA Division III Mens Basketball Championship at the Burkman Gymnasium on the campus of St. Lawrence University.
CENTERVILLE, Mass.--The NECC members #4 Becker and # 6 Daniel Webster eliminated the MASCAC members defeating #5 Framingham State and #3 Westfield State respectively. The Hawks will face #1 Lasell while the Eagles will host the #7 Rivier.

Suber, Favors and Silva Earn NECC Top Awards

All eight of the sponsored programs were represented on 2009 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Mens Basketball All-Conference Team, it was announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy. In addition to the All-NECC honors, three separate major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award were also voted upon and selected this week.
