NECC Field Hockey Athletes of the Week- September 23

Offensive Player of the Week  

 

Britney Gregoire (So., F), Thomas College  

Sophomore Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) totaled four goals in three games this week, averaging 3.67 shots on goal per game. Gregoire had one goal in a 2-1 loss to Skidmore on Saturday, before scoring her first career hat trick in a 3-0 win over Simmons on Sunday.

 

Defensive Player of the Week

 

Leah Kruse (Sr., GK), Thomas College

Senior Leah Kruse (Norridgewock, Maine) earned a seven-save shutout over Simmons in 3-0 win on Saturday. Against No. 15 Bates, she tallied four saves in 45:00 minutes of action. On the week, she posted a 2.00 goals against average and averaged 5.50 saves per games in two starts.  

 

Rookie of the Week

 

Ava Panzer (Fr., F) Manhattanville College  

Freshman Ava Pazner (Pawling, N.Y.) has made a major impact for Manhattanville in her inaugural season. When the Valiants hosted Saint Thomas Acquinas College on Thursday, Panzer tallied three points that led to the 2-0 win. The first goal for the Valiants came from Panzer as she received a pass in the middle of the circle, controlled the ball and lifted it into the goal. She then assisted on the second goal of the game. Later in the week, Panzer netted one goal in a 4-1 victory over Regis. Panzer tallied five points in two games last week.
