NECC Baseball Athletes of the Week - March 9

Player of the Week


Hunter Leroux-Porter (So., 1B),  Eastern Nazarene College

Sophomore Hunter Leroux-Porter (Greenland, N.H.) racked up 10 hits, 10 RBIs, six runs scored, and two stolen bases as Eastern Nazarene posted a 4-2 record on the week. Leroux-Porter collected a hit and score a run in all six games on the week while also registering an RBI in five of six contests. Leroux-Porter capped off the week with five RBIs and his first collegiate home run as the Lions topped Johnson & Wales, 14-13.


Pitcher of the Week


Roland Thivierge (Jr., P),  Mitchell College

Junior Roland Thivierge (Portland, Conn.) improved to 2-0 and posted his second shutout of the season last week at the RussMatt Invitational. He tossed a one-hitter against Waynesburg and struck out seven without issuing a walk. He faced only two batters over the minimum, and retired the first eight batters he faced as well as the final 12.


Rookie of the Week


Harutaro Takahashi (Fr., C), New England College

Freshman Harutaro Takahashi (Tokyo, Japan) batted .407 on the week, helping the Pilgrims to a 4-2 record. He tallied a hit in five of the six games, including three multi-hit games. He drove in nine runs, and scored ten. The rookie hit three home runs, finishing the week with a .778 slugging percentage. Takahashi also tacked on a stolen base.
