Mitchell's Marriott Named to D3Baseball.com Team of the Week

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Following a week in which he helped lead Mitchell College to a 3-0 record, senior Eric Marriott was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Monday.

The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, recognizing the top performers from across the nation at each position from the previous week. Marriott, an outfielder, becomes just the second Mitchell player to receive the honor. Former teammate Kyle Hartenstein earned the distinction as a junior in 2017.

Marriott batted a team-high .818 (9-for-11) with two homers, two doubles, six RBI and nine runs scored last week. He had three hits and at least one extra-base hit in all three games, beginning with a 3-for-4 day against Coast Guard Academy in which he homered twice and reached base five times. In the opener against Husson University he knocked in a pair of runs and scored five times, and in the nightcap he picked up his second double of the day and scored two more runs. He also slugged 1.545 for the week and had an on-base percentage of .813.

Marriott is batting .340 in 14 games this season and leads the Mariners in runs scored (19), home runs (4), on-base percentage (.500) and stolen bases (6). He has reached base safely in all but one game and is currently riding a four-game hitting streak.

Mitchell (9-5 overall) will next host Albertus Magnus College on Wednesday, March 27 at 1:30 p.m.
