Daniel Webster to host NECC Baseball Championship
Daniel Webster College finished the regular season 13-5 and earned the top seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference Baseball Championship. The Eagles (20-17 overall, 13-5 NECC) will host the double-elimination tournament begining Friday, May 4.
Daniel Webster College will meet fourth seed Elms College (13-22, 9-9 NECC) in game one of the tournament at 11:00 am on Friday. Second seed Becker College (19-18, 12-6 NECC) will play third seed Newbury College (21-18, 11-7 NECC) in game 2 scheduled to begin 3:00 pm Friday.
Play will continue on Saturday begining with the loser of game one and loser of game two meeting in an elimination game at 10:00 am. Winners of Friday's contests will play in game four, scheduled for 1:00 pm on Saturday with game five to follow.
Championship game will be played at 11:00 am on Sunday with the if necessary game scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday.
The top four teams qualify for the NECC Championship. Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.
Game times and dates are subject to change.
