    NASHUA, N.H. - The Daniel Webster College women's basketball team raised a total of $511.00 as part of its annual "Think Pink" Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser as part of the Eagles' 78-37 New England Collegiate Conference victory over Wheelock College this past February 13th.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University Athletic Department has responded to the success of their teams and growth of their student-athlete body population by sponsoring their sixth sport on the men's side by adding men's baseball to begin play for the 2010-2011 season. The addition of one of the region's and nation's most historic games will bring Lesley's varsity sports total to 12, six men's and six women's programs
  • Becker Baseball Season Ends With Loss To WPI In ECAC Semifinal

    Worcester, MA --- Senior outfielder Scott McNee (Falmouth, MA) mashed a three-run homer high over the fence in center in the bottom of the first inning, sparking top-seeded WPI to a 13-8 win over Becker in the ECAC New England Baseball Championship semifinals on Saturday afternoon at Class of 1893 Field. The win gives the Engineers a berth in the championship game at 4pm against the winner of the day's second semifinal matchup between second-seed Worcester State and sixth-seed Fitchburg State.

    BENNINGTON, Vt. - In the New England Collegiate Conference Baseball Champaionship Game the Becker College Hawks beat the Elms College Blazers to win the Inaugural Championship 13-5 at Epstein Field. Sophomore Jairo Valdez (Lynn, Mass.) led the Hawks offensively going 5-for-6 and scoring three runs while freshman pitcher Cody Harmes (Strasburg, Pa.) got the complete game win.

    BENNINGTON, Vt. - In day two of the New England Collegiate Conference Baseball Playoffs the #2 Elms College Blazers rolled past the #4 Mitchell College Mariners 12-3. #3 Becker College Hawks beat the #1 Southern Vermont College Mountaineers knocking 17 hits in the 11-4 victory at Epstein Field. Elms College Blazers slid past the #1 Southern Vermont College Mountaineers 10-8 advancing to the NECC Championship against the Becker College.

    BENNINGTON, Vt. - The Inaugural New England Collegiate Conference Baseball Championship Playoffs kicked off Friday morning with the Southern Vermont College Mountaineers rallied in the bottom of the ninth as they scored three runs to slip past the Mitchell College Mariners 11-10 with the winning run coming on a catcher interference with the bases loaded.The Becker College Hawks' hot bats cruised past the Elms College Blazers in game two of the Inaugural New England Collegiate Conference Baseball Championship Playoffs 10-1 on Friday afternoon.

The Mountaineers (11-24 overall) earned the top spot in the upcoming NECC tournament after posting a 7-3 conference record.

    ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Elms College junior designated hitter/ first baseman Justin Jacobs (Springhill, Fla.) batted .579 while Blazer teammate sophomore Matt Wood (Feeding Hills, Mass.) tossed seven shutout innings each grabbing Player and Pitcher weekly awards. Southern Vermont College freshman outfielder Pat Warrington (Folcroft, Pa.) batted .391 for rookie honors.

    NASHUA, N.H. – Tyler Calkin was running the bases during a game in Florida earlier this month then the third out of an inning was made. His coach, Daniel Webster College mentor J.P. Pyne, grabbed his shortstop's glove off the bench and handed it to him out in the infield. That's when Pyne first noticed the scribblings on it.

Fellow Mariner and senior hurler Adam Deltgen (Norwich, Conn.) enjoyed a strong week, posting a perfect 0.00 ERA and going undefeated with a 2-0 week.
