MARSHFIELD, Mass. -- The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) has added men's and women’s track & field to its lineup, beginning with the 2018-19 season.
The NECC Athletic Directors approved the addition as the conference’s 15th and 16th sport in their May meeting.
“The NECC is excited to add both men’s and women’s track & field to the conference’s offerings,” stated NECC Commissioner Katie Boldvich. “The league continues to enhance offerings for our membership and we look forward to recognizing these programs and student-athletes both on and off the field.”
Currently, five of the ten conference members offer men's and women's track & field as a varsity sport- Eastern Nazarene College, Elms College, Lesley University, Newbury College and Southern Vermont College.
NECC teams will compete at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Track & Field Championship in the spring. The NECC will recognize the top individual and team finishers amongst the competing NECC institutions.
Established in 2007, the NECC is comprised of ten private institutions-Bay Path University, Becker College, Dean College, Eastern Nazarene College, Elms College, Lesley University, Mitchell College, New England College, Newbury College and Southern Vermont College.
