NECC Announces 2019-20 Championship Dates

NECC CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL 

MANSFIELD, MASS. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) unveiled its championship dates for the 2019-20 academic year on Tuesday.  

The NECC golf schools will compete in the Massachusetts State Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championship as associate members on October 5-6 at Wachusett Country Club in Boylston, Mass. 

The first NECC Championships of 2019-20 will be held October 26 at Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts, as Bay Path University plays host to Men’s and Women’s Cross Country.
 
The 2019 NECC Field Hockey Championship will take place on November 2, 9 and 10 as an expanded field of eight competitors will allow for a six-team single elimination format tournament.  
 
The NECC Women’s Soccer Championship will open on Saturday, November 2, with first round games being held at the third and fourth seed. The winners will advance to the semifinals at the top two seeds on Wednesday, November 6, followed by the title game on November 9.
 
The 2019 NECC Men’s Soccer Championship will follow the same format as the women, with first-round games set for November 3, followed by the semifinals on November 7, and the final match on November 10.

Women’s Volleyball will begin their postseason with first round games on November 5, with semifinals on November 8 and the championship match on November 10.

The 2019 NECC Men’s and Women’s Basketball tournaments will each see six-team fields, with first round games tipping off on February 25. Semifinals will be held on February 27, with both champions being crowned on February 29.

Six teams will battle for the NECC Men’s Volleyball Championship, starting with first round games on April 7, followed by the semifinals on April 9. The NECC will crown its champion on April 11.
 
The four-team NECC Women’s Lacrosse Championship will be held on April 29 and May 2.

Three NECC schools sponsor men’s and women’s track & field, and will compete in an invitational championship.

The NECC will once again take part in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC)/NECC Men’s Lacrosse Alliance Championship. The top two NECC seeds will face the top two NAC seeds on April 25, and the winners will face off on May 2.
 
The NECC Softball Championship is scheduled for April 30, with two single elimination games. The tournament will then move to double elimination play on May 2-3, hosted by the top seed.

Mirroring the softball tournament, the NECC Baseball Championship wraps up the league’s 2019-20 sports seasons.
